Workshop To Benefit Alzheimers Disease - June 14th, 2008

Message from Carolyn Robinson:

Dear Friends,

On June 14th we had a line dance workshop to benefit Alzheimers Disease with guest instructor Larry Bass. Due to the time of year our number of dancers was lower than we expected, however, the dancers who came had a great time with Larry and learned a lot of new dances!

It is always evident to me when dancers are having a good time at a workshop because they either:
1) are sweating profusively,
2) keep dancing regardless of how tired they are and/or
3) when asked if they want to learn a new dance, they continue to yell “Yes!”
This was the atmosphere on June 14th!

Larry had some great new dances he taught including:
"Long Legs & Long Necks"
"Unplugged" (this was a favorite because it goes to Eric Clapton’s "Layla"
"Hot N’ Easy"
"Getting’ Down & Dirty"
"Never Ending Love"
"One Good Reason"
"Rockin’ Easy"
"Taking You With Me"
and also, Frank Trace’s "Duck Soup"
and Evan Kyle’s "Like A Breeze" to Mandy Barnett’s "Whispering Wind".
All of these dances can be found here on our site.

We raised $265.00 toward the Alzheimers Research and plan to have the workshop again next year with Larry Bass as our guest instructor. Thanks to Carol Craven for continuing to display my notice about the workshop! You are a tremendous help to us all.

Thanks again to all those who came!
Carolyn Robinson
